Mohammed Bakheit

Mohammed Bakheit obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Khartoum, and doctoral degree in the Free University of Berlin. He worked as a Postdoc in diagnostics (both serological and molecular), in the Free State University, South Africa, then in the National Reference Center for Protozoan Diseases (NRCPD), Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Japan, where he focused on the diagnosis of Cryptosporidium species using Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification, LAMP. He joined Research Center Borstel, Germany, and participated in development of diagnostics for tick-borne protozoan diseases using LAMP. Since 2014, he has been working in the R&D Department of Mast Diagnostica GmbH, Germany.

Friederike Hans

Friederike Hans studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany then obtained her PhD in Molecular Neuroscience from the Eberhard Karls University in Tuebingen, Germany. She pursued a Postdoc in molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (HIH) and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Tuebingen. In 2023, she joined Mast Diagnostica GmbH in Reinfeld, Germany, as a Scientist and Developer, focusing on the development of LAMP assays for the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
